When Dean Anthony “Tony” Marshall retired from Florida International University in October 1998, he established and personally funded the Anthony G. Marshall American Dream Scholarship. His desire was to provide financial support for undergraduate students with financial need in the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management. In recognition and celebration of Tony Marshall's contributions to the education and achievements of thousands of industry leaders, Dean Joseph West decided to convert the fund to an endowed scholarship in December 2006. The Scholarship will exist in perpetuity to honor his memory. The Anthony G. Marshall American Dream Scholarship is intended to provide financial support to undergraduate degree-seeking students. - junior or senior standing - in the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management with demonstrated financial need. Recipients of the Anthony G. Marshall American Dream Scholarships will be known as Marshall Scholars. |
