STR reports US performance for week ending 31 October
In year-over-year measurements, the industry's occupancy fell 7.2 percent to 51.8 percent, ADR dropped 7.2 percent to US$98.99, and RevPAR decreased 13.8 percent to finish at US$51.28.

In year-over-year measurements, the industry's occupancy decreased 6.7 percent to 55.7 percent, ADR dropped 6.4 percent to CAD$122.77, and RevPAR decreased 12.6 percent to CAD$68.40.

Confidence In Tourism Sector Gradually Picking Up
The decline in international tourism may have started to bottom out, according to the latest edition of the UNWTO World Tourism Barometer. Worldwide, international tourist arrivals declined by 7% between January and August 2009, but the rate of decline has eased in the past few months. These results, as well as the most recent economic data, confirm UNWTO's initial forecast of a 5% decline in international tourist arrivals for the full year 2009. For 2010, UNWTO expects a moderate growth.
