Biography

Florence Wauquier, M.S., is a Conference & Event Services Manager at the Roz & Cal Kovens Conference Center at Florida International University. Ms. Wauquier has also recently taken the role of Instructor of Meetings & Show Markets.

Ms. Wauquier’s experience in the Hospitality and Tourism industry started when she was working for Disneyland Paris in France as a Cast Member. She went on to work as a Professional Tour Guide for the world renowned “Confiseries Florian”, France, where she provided tours for tourists in English in one of their sweet factories in Nice. Ms. Wauquier then decided to move to the United States to pursue her Bachelor and Master Degree, and specialized in the Conventions, Meetings and Events industry. She has worked for the South Beach Wine & Food Festival from 2003-2006. As a Conference & Event Services Manager, she has played a role in ensuring that the Kovens Conference Center remains a competitive facility in the South Florida Market and facilitated classes for the Academy of Hospitality and Tourism, and the Planning Meetings class on site, where she provided orientations and tours of the facility as well as highlights on the industry trends for them.

Ms. Wauquier is a graduate of Florida International University’s School of Hospitality and Tourism Management. Ms. Wauquier earned her Master in Tourism Studies in December 2005, and her Bachelor of Science in Travel and Tourism Management in April 2004, both with a 4.0 GPA.

Born in Nice, France, Ms. Wauquier currently resides in Miami, Florida.
