Introduction to the fundamentals of leadership and basic leadership skills for organizational success.

HFT 6245
Service Operations Management
Prepares students & gives them the tools to ensure profitability and guest satisfaction in Operations Management. This course demonstrates the strategic advantages of Operations Management, providing students with quantitative tools for decision making, via meaningful computer programs/software that will distinguish our students, our school, and the hospitality industry in the Operations Management field. Students will also be exposed to the importance of quality in operational issues. Additionally, students will gain money-making ideas that will create a competitive advantage for them in the market.

Biography

Sabina Tonarelli-Frey, PHR, MBA, is an Adjunct Lecturer at Florida International University, School of Hospitality & Tourism Management. Ms. Tonarelli-Frey has also taken on the role of Adjunct Facilitator (Trainer) for the University's Organization Development & Learning Department within the Division of Human Resources. Ms. Tonarelli-Frey has taught at Miami-Dade Community College as part-time instructor to hospitality management exchange students. Through STF Consulting, Inc., Ms. Tonarelli-Frey is also a Human Resources Management Consultant for the South Florida Community.

Before beginning her career as an educator and human resources management consultant, Ms. Tonarelli-Frey worked as Director of Human Resources in the hospitality corporate arena with various major hotels, including the Loews Miami Beach Hotel and the Miami Airport Hilton & Towers Hotel. She worked with Hilton Hotels Corporation for over 10 years in various Human Resources leadership positions at various properties, including the Fontainebleau Hilton Resort & Towers and the Atlanta Hilton & Towers. Ms. Tonarelli-Frey also served as Human Resources Cluster Lead for Hilton Hotels to all the Hiltons of Florida. Additionally in 2002 & 2003, Ms. Tonarelli-Frey held the position of President of the South Florida Human Resources Hospitality Association.

Ms. Tonarelli-Frey is a graduate of Florida International University's School of Hospitality Management program and earned her MBA, Master's in Business Administration, from Nova Southeastern University. She received her Certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR) in 1998.

Born in Lima, Peru, and of Italian nationality, Ms. Tonarelli-Frey is fluent in English, Spanish, and Italian. She currently resides in Miami, Florida with her husband, Patrick Frey.
