


Heather Welker ’08 has been recruited by MGM Mirage in Las Vegas for the Management Associate Program (MAP). The Management Associate Program (MAP) is a six-month, hands-on training experience designed for recent college graduates. These candidates must possess sufficient skills, both academically and through work experience, to meet the challenges and demands of management. MAP is specifically designed to help build future generations of leaders in the MGM Mirage Company and provides participants with an unparalleled training and mentoring experience.
Joseph Quintana ’08 has been selected for the Marriott's Management Development Program (MDP), a self-paced, individual development program designed to provide entry-level Marriott managers with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform their jobs and provide exceptional guest service. This program helps develop discipline-specific technical skills needed to be proficient in the job, and the management skills needed to ensure a successful career with Marriott as an assistant department manager. He will be assigned to the Renaissance Nashville Hotel adjacent to the Nashville Convention Center.

When he sat down with Business Monday, Joe West was getting ready for a triumphant return to China.The outgoing dean of Florida International University's School of Hospitality & Tourism Management would leave the next day for Tianjin, home of FIU's new hospitality school.
